“Fall behind early so you’ll have more time to catch up later.”
This is my quote right now. I feel so behind on so many aspects of my life. The past 3-4 weeks have been some of the busiest, most exciting, life-changing, and stressful of the summer. And the coming at least 2 weeks are going to be even busier (why, oh why did I sign-up for the PTA Executive Committee 🙂 ).
Here’s a quick look at late July in our house (and other places).
Of course, one of my favorite Utah traditions in July is Pioneer Day. This year we created what we plan to be a new tradition, and attended the Days of ’47 Rodeo. It was really entertaining, we learned a lot about the events, and all the kids had a great time. They especially loved dressing up as cowboys. I think the gold star goes to Audra, who donned her cowgirl costume!
Then there was our most favorite tradition of all: fireworks at Mueller Park! They did not disappoint! We were a smidge concerned about Eli who had demonstrated a large fear of fireworks in the weeks leading up. I figured I’d end up in the car with him. Boy, did he surprise us! He laid on grandpa with his ears plugged and delivered the most entertaining commentary — telling us how “awetom” they were and many other hilarious bits. I guess he’s fine with fireworks now. Oh, that kid!
We ended July with the beginning of our foreign family visits. Nate & Tasha were able to come and spend the day with us (via England and then St. George where they left all their children) which was the best! We loved catching up and showing them around our new place. The next day we met them for dinner prior to us all attending the incredible Imagine Dragons concert. It was seriously probably the best concert I’ve ever been to, if you don’t count the opening acts. So fun to be with Dave and enjoying good music.
Deats on August shortly . . . .
