This cute little kid had quite the experience earlier today. I received a phone call this morning from the principal at his school. She informed me that once a month there is a lunch with the Mayor . . . a child from each grade is nominated to go, and Conner was nominated by his teacher to attend this month. I thought that was pretty awesome and couldn’t wait to hear about it from Conner. When he arrived home from school, he had a grin the size of Texas on his face and couldn’t wait to tell me all about his adventure. The 5 kids were all picked up in a truck and taken to City Hall where they had pizza and Ding Dongs (according to Conner that was the menu) with the Mayor, the Principal, and some kids from a few other schools. They were then given a ride back to school in a fire truck (his favorite part), and a baggie of gifts which included a frisbee, a model airplane, and some treats. He had a great day and we are so proud of him.
He really is growing up and is such a wonderful help to me. He is always more than willing to play with Logan, and loves Audra — especially loves giving her her binky. He also serves as Logan’s translator at times and continues to want to learn new things. I can’t believe his 7th birthday is just around the corner, and love watching him grow up.
