Sometimes being the oldest child pays off (I said sometimes :-))! I have been blessed to have sisters who are very willing to babysit their favorite nephews (I can say that because they are their only nephews). Conner has always looked forward to playing with them, and Logan is learning to love having them around. We were lucky enough to have Megan and Tyler come over Friday night and watch the kiddos while Dave and I spent nearly 5 hours alone at dinner and a movie.
*Sidenote: we saw the new Steve Carell movie “Get Smart,” and I would HIGHLY recommend it.
It is very entertaining and funny.
When we got home, we learned that a very fun evening had taken place. I am honestly impressed that they were able to do so much in the time between dinner and bed. Here is a rundown:
– Science experimentation. Tyler and Conner went and bought Diet Coke and Mentos. For those of you who don’t know what happens when you combine these two – check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKoB0MHVBvM. Conner has not stopped talking about it all day. Tyler really is the best uncle – he always has something fun to do with the kids.
– Taking a stroll. They went for a walk on the Lagoon/Farmington Creek Trail. This is one of our favorite places to go. You can feed the ducks at the pond, and the trail is shaded and beautiful. At the other end are the Lagoon animals. It is just a few minutes from our house, so we frequent it often.
