The responsibility mothers have today has never required more vigilance. More than at any time in the history of the world, we need mothers who know. Children are being born into a world where they “wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). However, mothers need not fear. When mothers know who they are and who God is and have made covenants with Him, they will have great power and influence for good on their children.
* Mothers Who Know Honor Sacred Ordinances and Covenants
I am so grateful for all the women in my life who have provided me with these wonderful attributes. I know that I am not a perfect mother, and won’t ever be, but I look forward to, and love learning along with my children. I want them to grow to be happy and confident people and I will do my part to make that happen.
I am also thankful for the honor of having these little boys in my life. I try to remember to thank my Father in Heaven everyday for sending them to me. Neither of them came when I wanted them to, quickly, or easily. I’m not saying I wouldn’t appreciate them if had been easy, but sometimes we take for granted those things that come easily. I loved the 5 years I was able to spend with Dave and all I accomplished during that time, but I have always wanted to be a mom (not JUST a mom) so I felt my prayers being answered when that happened. It certainly isn’t a cake walk, or as convenient when it was just the two of us, but Conner and Logan fill me with joy and I love my little single-dimpled-cheek baby, and my super-long-eyelash little boy!
